I found the Fairmont Hotel in Ipoh to be a mixed bag. The service from the reception staff, especially Ms. Theng, was fantastic, and they provided great local food recommendations. However, the room I stayed in was quite old and not well-maintained, with visible spider webs and unreliable air conditioning. Overall, I appreciated the helpfulness of the staff, but the hotel itself needs some serious improvements.
The room was spacious but noticeably aged and not very clean. I even spotted spider webs and the air conditioning didn't work well.
The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. They readily provided information about local dining options and offered discount vouchers.
The hotel is conveniently located near various coffee shops and eateries, making it easy to find local food.
While I didn’t try the hotel dining options, the receptionists were great at recommending nearby restaurants and cafes.
